What the Letters from The Hague Conceal: Why the International Court Wrote to Three Members, and Not to the BiH Presidency

Three unopened letters are located in the BiH Embassy, sent from the International Court of Justice in The Hague to the three members of the BiH Presidency, and that they will be forwarded to the BiH Presidency as soon as possible.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Igor Crnadak, confirmed this information, stating that he does not know the content of the letters because the envelopes are sealed.

The explicit order of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Mladen Ivanić, was that, due to recent events with the Embassy in The Hague, those envelopes should be sent sealed to the Presidency.

He said that he expects that, in accordance with diplomatic procedure for such shipments, they will be at the Ministry's headquarters by tomorrow at the latest, or on Tuesday, where officials will carry out the necessary work.

Crnadak finds it very interesting that the International Court of Justice in The Hague decided to write separately to the three members of the Presidency, and not to the Presidency as an institution, but he did not wish to speculate on what the content of the letters might be.

Mladen Ivanić and Dragan Čović confirmed that they are aware of the letters, while there is still no reaction from Bakir Izetbegović.  

On the other hand, Milorad Dodik, the President of the RS, spoke very openly about the letters. When asked to comment on the fact that the International Court of Justice in The Hague sent a letter to the members of the BiH Presidency, Dodik said it appears the court is resolving this matter quickly.

- I would not go into the procedure of all this now, but it seems to me that the court is resolving this matter expeditiously, if that is the case. It is absolutely clear that there is no legal basis for further dealing with this issue and keeping this topic on the agenda; it only deepens the crisis in BiH - Dodik added.

The President of the RS said that it would be best if the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Bakir Izetbegović, had found the strength after everything and withdrawn that request, after which, perhaps, his allegedly "extended hand" could be accepted.
