What Turković Did with the Valuable Order from Qatar

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turković, as the former ambassador of BiH to the State of Qatar, was received in a farewell visit on January 16, 2020, by the Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. On that occasion, the Qatari Emir Al Thani presented Minister Turković with the „Al Wajba“ order for exceptional diplomatic contribution to strengthening bilateral relations in all areas between the two countries during her mandate as ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the State of Qatar. The order is made of three types of gold and is very valuable.

Member of the House of Representatives of Our Party Damir Arnaut, citing the Law on Conflict of Interest, requested from the minister an answer whether she reported that order and whether she handed it over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, given that the value of this order exceeds 200 KM.

"The law is clear, she cannot keep this gift," said Arnaut.

Given that Bisera Turković is not present at the session of the House of Representatives, her deputy could not provide an answer to this question.
