What did Nikšić want to say: We will not betray, nor do we ask others to betray

(Patria) - The President of SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić addressed the public ahead of today's meeting of the Trojka, HDZ, and SNSD, where they will try to reach an agreement on some legal solutions. And while Nikšić and the rest of the Trojka talk about the EU path, Milorad Dodik and Dragan Čović have their own agenda for today with laws that are not a priority set by the EU.

"Not every conversation can end with a final agreement or a signed accord. But I hope that with every conversation we are closer to an agreement. Do not judge individual steps, judge what we achieve or do not achieve. Agreement is even harder to reach under the cover of populism that has almost completely engulfed the political scene.

We have the first significant test for the ruling coalition in March. Then it will be seen whether and how successful we were. We will pass that test only if we reach an agreement on laws important for strengthening the rule of law. It is not important how many times we have to sit and conduct difficult negotiations, but we will do it until we reach a compromise. It is very important that we adopt laws that are important for opening negotiations with the EU, and what is even more important, that will strengthen the judicial apparatus in BiH so that no one is above the law.

What citizens should know is that with no agreement will we diminish or abolish the rights of any citizen or any people. And this is precisely what is most manipulated in the public. We will not betray, nor do we ask others to betray. For SDP, every inch of Bosnia and Herzegovina is equally important, for us all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are equally important and we fight for each of them," Nikšić stated in a somewhat confusing address.

A new meeting, following the last secret meeting in Bakinci, will be held today at the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
