What Merkel asked Nikolić regarding BiH

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in a conversation with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić, particularly emphasized Serbia's significance and influence on the stability of BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.

She stressed the messages Serbia is sending in the context of strengthening the state of BiH, writes Danas.

According to sources of the Belgrade-based newspaper, Merkel told Nikolić that regional stability is of key importance for progress in European integration and that Serbia's role is particularly valued and measured in this process.

- The German Chancellor told the Serbian President that messages of support for the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina should continue. She noted that the degree of pacification achieved at this moment may not be sufficient, but that if it persists in the coming years, long-term stability and the final functioning of the state as a unified whole could be counted on, Danas's interlocutors from diplomatic circles note.
