SSSB&H demands new labour laws from Novalić, threatens protests in front of the Government

The Union of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sent a request to the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, for the drafting and adoption of several laws, i.e., amendments to existing laws, announced by the SSSB&H, as reported by the news agency Patria (NAP).

SSSB&H demands from Novalić the Law on Linking Years of Service for all workers whose employers have not paid pension and disability insurance contributions, the Law on Occupational Safety and Health of the FBiH, the Law on Amendments to the Law on Strikes of the FBiH, the Law on Amendments to the Law on Bankruptcy Proceedings of the FBiH, and the Law on Amendments to the Law on Mediation in Employment and Social Security of Unemployed Persons of the FBiH.

From the SSSB&H, they state that for months they have been warning about the shortcomings, i.e., omissions in legal solutions and the harmful consequences suffered by workers, and that for all workers, but also for employers and the economy in the FBiH in general, it would be more important and purposeful to adopt the set of mentioned laws before the adoption of the new Labour Law.

- We now expect that the Prime Minister and the Government of the FBiH will have more understanding and finally address the burning problems for workers in the FBiH – state from the SSSB&H, adding that the laws must be adopted as soon as possible, because any delay will only increase the scope of problems that workers and their families face daily.

In case the Government of the FBiH, i.e., Prime Minister Novalić, ignores the request, the SSSB&H announces new protests in front of the building of the Government of the FBiH, reports NAP.
