World Bank Funds Approved for 21 Municipalities: 1.4 Million KM for Maglaj, 1.6 Million for Zenica

The Federal Government today adopted a Decision on establishing criteria and allocating World Bank loan funds intended for financing the Emergency Flood Recovery Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

This decision establishes criteria and approves the allocation of World Bank loan funds totaling 10,260,000 US dollars (15,011,088 KM) as aid to areas affected by natural disasters.

These funds have been approved for 21 municipalities where estimated damage to housing stock exceeds 100 KM per capita. The criteria applied were: total damage to housing stock in the municipality accounted for 60 percent of the weighting, while population and level of development each accounted for 20 percent.

Thus, the municipality of Domaljevac-Šamac received 681,146 KM, Doboj-Jug 329,567, Maglaj 1,431,862, Orašje 913,947, Odžak 886,926, Sapna 302,229, Žepče 677,726, Doboj-Istok 222,544, Sanski Most 956,821, Tuzla 2,024,405, Kladanj 244,308, Zavidovići 715,492, Srebrenik 714,929, Živinice 957,924, Zenica 1,658,586, Lukavac 689,828, Olovo 166,749, Gračanica 679,000, Kalesija 541,134, Usora 105,439, and Teočak 110,528 convertible marks. These funds will be used to finance sub-projects proposed by the municipalities in accordance with the principles and criteria established under the Emergency Flood Recovery Project in BiH.

Today, a Decision was also adopted on the appointment of the Steering Committee of the Emergency Flood Recovery Project in BiH for the territory of the Federation of BiH, composed of: Chairman Samir Bakić (Federal Ministry of Finance), and members Silvana Marić (Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications), Sulejman Alijagić (Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees), Stipe Šakić (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry), Safudin Čengić (Employers' Association of FBiH), Jasminka Begić (Association of Municipalities and Cities of FBiH - Mayor of Doboj-Jug), and Rasim Omerović (Association of Municipalities and Cities - Mayor of Kalesija).
