Srebrenica criminal responsible for the deaths of thousands seeks 150,000 euros for mental anguish!

Convicted war criminal and former Army of Republika Srpska general Radislav Krstić has sued Great Britain over allegedly suffered mental anguish and serious injuries sustained while serving his sentence in Great Britain. The criminal is seeking compensation from this country in the amount of 150,000 euros, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Krstić was sentenced to 35 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague (ICTY) for his role in the Srebrenica genocide in 1995.

After the Hague Tribunal imposed a 35-year sentence in 2004, Krstić was transferred to the prison in Wakefield, England, where he was attacked in 2010 by three men, one of whom was allegedly a Bosniak from BiH.

Krstić claims he is still haunted by the events of that day, complains that British authorities did not protect him sufficiently from other prisoners, and seeks compensation for the injuries sustained and PTSD he developed due to that event in prison. It is alleged that two prisoners held him while a third among them cut his throat.

After serving ten years of his sentence, Krstić was transferred to Poland, where he will serve the remaining 25 years for the Srebrenica genocide.

During the Serbian aggression against BiH, Krstić's rank placed him immediately below the criminal Ratko Mladić, a general of the Army of Republika Srpska, who is also on trial in The Hague for war crimes in BiH.

Krstić was captured in a joint operation by the SAS and US Navy SEALs in 1998 in BiH. He became the first war criminal convicted of genocide by the Hague Tribunal in 2001, reports NAP.
