SREBRENICA Preparations begin for the commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks

(Patria) - On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, starting at 11 AM in the premises of the Srebrenica Memorial Center - Potočari, the First Meeting of the Organizing Committee for the commemoration of July 11, 1995, the 24th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the "UN Safe Area" Srebrenica will be held.

Given that this is a working meeting, media will be allowed to film footage, take photographs, and conduct interviews after the meeting.

Earlier, Hamdija Fejzić was appointed president of the Organizing Committee for the commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the "UN SA" Srebrenica from July 1995.

On Tuesday, the presidents of the subcommittees will be appointed, and they will subsequently be tasked with forming their subcommittees. With this, activities for preparing the commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the "UN SA" Srebrenica will commence.
Incidentally, March 31, 2019, marks sixteen years since the first collective funeral at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center Cemetery and Memorial for the victims of the 1995 genocide. At that time, the first 600 identified victims of the genocide in Srebrenica were buried in the Memorial Center cemetery.

 To date, 6,610 identified victims of the genocide in Srebrenica have been buried in the Memorial Center cemetery.
