The acquittal of Vojislav Šešelj, whom the Hague Tribunal today cleared of responsibility for crimes against non-Serb civilians in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Vojvodina in the early 1990s, sparked sharp reactions from victims.
Analysts in the region and around the world also assessed that the acquittal of Šešelj, who incited and encouraged crimes, is a first-class scandal for the Hague Tribunal.
Banja Luka analyst Srđan Puhalo said that the acquittal of Šešelj sends a clear message to future criminals that committing crimes is permissible, and that the only important thing is to hide the evidence, Patria reports.
