Serbs from the Independent Board Saved Zubac from Suspension

Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency Goran Zubac has not yet been suspended despite the fact that an indictment has been filed and confirmed against him, writes the Patria News Agency. The Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH did not reach any conclusion at its last session, and they sent an urgent request for four more reports from security institutions regarding what happened on February 7 in Sarajevo when the Presidency of BiH building was set on fire.

As NAP learns, the board members are approaching this task quite subjectively, thereby neglecting the Law on Police Officers of BiH, which clearly states, among other things, that “when a criminal investigation is conducted against a police officer, disciplinary proceedings are initiated and the police officer is suspended until the completion of the criminal proceedings or until the completion of the criminal investigation.”

At the session of the Independent Board, there was no majority for the decision to send Zubac on leave, because for a decision to be made, seven votes are necessary.

- There are three Bosniaks, three Croats, and three Serbs on the Independent Board. It is difficult to expect any of the representatives of the Serb people to vote for Zubac's suspension. This is evident from the discussions as well – says our source.

It is known that Žiko Krunić, the chairman of the Independent Board, is close to Goran Zubac, who is expected to appear in the dock next week to plead guilty or not guilty to the indictment charging him with dereliction of duty.

The next session of the Independent Board is expected in the next seven to ten days, and the session of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH is scheduled for July 3, when the dismissal of the Independent Board could be requested, as they have not acted in accordance with the law.

Otherwise, besides Krunić, the Independent Board includes Enes Obralija, Mato Jozić, Ilma Mehić-Jusufbašić, Adisa Begić, Nikola Džambas, Mate Miletić, Ljubomir Kuravica, and Miroslav Škorić.
