Disgrace for BiH: Are we losing EYOF 2017?

A meeting will be held at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday regarding the organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival 2017 in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić, and members Bakir Izetbegović and Dragan Čović, in the presence of the top officials of the Olympic Committee of BiH (OK BiH), will meet with Zlatko Mateša, member of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Vlade Divac, representative of the Executive Board of the Association of 205 National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

Although we have already entered 2015, according to Patria's source from the BiH Presidency, concrete projects have not been presented to date, but the BiH Presidency will support any significant project for BiH.

Patria has previously written about the organization of EYOF and financial difficulties, as well as delays in the implementation of certain projects, in order to meet the demanding organization of this event. Samir Avdić, director of the EYOF 2017 company, previously told Patria that they have to wait for the formation of the government and that the wider social community must be involved in the organization, but that he believes everything will be completed on time.

Otherwise, this serious project of enormous importance for the development of tourism not only in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, but in the whole of BiH, has been entrusted to Deputy Mayor Ranko Čović in the City Administration of Sarajevo.
