Shame

Elections are not just a boring, pointless, and unnecessary "thing" that repeats every two years, costing huge amounts of money and changing nothing. There are also elections in between that pass more or less unnoticed.

For the attentive observer, they resemble a pile of known but neglected facts, and in certain cases – as is typically careless – they force him to learn some new ones as well. The known things that elections remind us of are that parties / parties / communities / alliances / fronts... are groups of extremely low-quality, uninventive, unimaginative, uncreative, and many other "un-" people (individuals and groups) who are unable to think of anything outside the "box" we live in. And this makes them particularly boring because, in this specific case, repetition is not the mother of knowledge but the mother of wasting time.

On one side is the foaming rhetoric and readiness to destroy and drown everything around if "I" – the legitimate, authentic, and only true one – am not elected, and on the completely other side is everything else. Institutions that they persistently try to convince us have no authority or jurisdiction – except for some "secondary" ones (?!) like defense and appointment of diplomatic representatives – suddenly become important when the party affiliation of those who will be in power for the next four years is called into question. The candidacy and self-candidacy of a crowd of completely unnecessary and meaningless characters whose general (non)existence in no way affects anything serves only to satisfy both the form and the essence of a de facto country divided between the three strongest or most resourceful or most corrupt parties / parties / communities.

Two or three demonstrative attempts at candidacy, doomed to failure in advance, have brought nothing to anyone except those "meaningless candidates in even more meaningless attempts" who, incidentally, have brought nothing to anyone nor drawn attention to anything other than the already known fact that they cannot run as in normal countries... Perhaps these candidacies only reminded us that some people we had completely forgotten about are still alive!

Besides, some parties are trying to convince us that only people outside our country are capable of doing something for the country, and only if they are members of bodies and institutions, and in no other way.

Therefore, candidates have brought nothing new either in the definition of institutions and bodies, or in their jurisdictions, nor in the reputation of the institutions or the proposed candidates, but it has said a lot about the queen of all politics – personnel and, importantly, the relationship of political subjects, predicates, and objects towards the system, the state, the institutions of the system, and the departments.

One more paradox – if one can even speak of paradoxes, because these patterns of abnormal behavior have become rules – is the fact that all this is legalized and legitimized by the votes of people with pensions of 320 KM, salaries of 500-600 KM... who, by going to the polls or not, have decided that completely unqualified, incompetent, inappropriate, unworthy, indecently unsuitable, and by every conceivable basis – from ethical and moral to "political" – spent individuals, human beings, breathing creatures have salaries of 5000-7000, that excise taxes, fiscal and parafiscal charges are introduced for them, that they vote for themselves white, blue, green... breads, that they don't agree on anything, that they blackmail, threaten, and instill fear...

This fact, in fact, says more about us than about them, because, does that sound like an action that can be justified by anything, even national interest?

The media corrects, rewrites, fabricates, and invents information in which everyone accuses and blames each other, and everyone is guilty and no one is guilty... for some, prison is constantly "hanging over their heads," while others dare not even be questioned, let alone accused of anything... But it's all in vain.

Ministers and their assistants and advisors, members of parliament, assembly representatives, appointed and hired party obedient servants and officials, various lucky and unlucky people... in addition to abnormally high salaries, never earned or deserved by anything, receive and take compensation for work in commissions whose names they don't even know, let alone what they are for and what they should do, they charge travel expenses and daily allowances not only for trips to their hometowns and visits to friends and relatives who are not yet employed in state service and companies, but also for trips they have never taken; incidentally, in their hometowns, they drive some decrepit cars so that their countrymen can see how modest they still are, while in Sarajevo they are driven by drivers with whom they sometimes share daily allowances... and everyone who has the opportunity arranges jobs and tenders for their friends and acquaintances with the implied commission.

In short, we have no courage, and we fear neither God nor UDBA; dignity has become a thought; our own honor means nothing to us, so why should someone else's mean anything to us. Honor has become an "old trade," a dying virtue. We have sacrificed everything and subordinated everything to the national interest.

As such, as people without integrity, without subjectivity, without humanity, without self-respect... it is normal that no one values us, least of all those who represent and lead us.

However, is it really necessary for them to show us this lack of respect through appointments and assignments, employment and rewards, honors and elevations of people who have even less of all the above than we do?

Indeed, does every goal justify every appointment? Yes, it does. For the goal(s) that these parties have set for themselves, they need people who, in worldly affairs, look almost exclusively to people whose goal is more important, more significant, and more precious than any means to achieve it. For example, there are people whose goal is money. We would all like to have enough – and a little more – money than is necessary for survival, but there are people whose thirst for money borders on (or doesn't border at all) a psychiatric diagnosis.

Such people are also mentioned in the Holy Book as "those who drink salt water. The more they drink, the thirstier they become..." Such people, of course, hold nothing sacred, and no means that need to be used to achieve a goal seems forbidden to them.
