SPS: 27 foreign nationals returned to countries of origin

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Service for Foreigners' Affairs has returned 16 Turkish nationals who were illegally staying on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Turkey in the last two days. Namely, through operational work, inspectors of the Service discovered 16 illegal migrants staying in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who were determined to be Turkish nationals during the procedure. All persons were issued expulsion measures from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a ban on entry and stay for a period of one year.

Until their removal from the territory of BiH, the Turkish nationals were under supervision in the Immigration Center. The persons were escorted to the Sarajevo International Airport, through which they left Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of measures and activities to combat illegal migration, in cooperation between the Service for Foreigners' Affairs and the International Organization for Migration, through the Assisted Voluntary Return Program, 11 persons were removed from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina to their countries of origin. 

These are six nationals of Pakistan and five nationals of Iraq. The Service for Foreigners' Affairs issued expulsion measures to the said persons due to illegal stay on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a ban on entry and stay for a period of one year.

The Service continuously works on raising awareness among migrants about the importance and advantages of voluntary return to their countries of origin.
