Removal of mural to war criminal Praljak prevented, Kajan calls for investigation

(Patria) - An attempt to remove a mural dedicated to war criminal Slobodan Praljak in the Ortiješ settlement in Mostar was prevented by citizens who gathered and stopped the removal, with curses and threats.
Member of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sanel Kajan, who had previously requested the removal of the mural, called for an urgent investigation and accountability.

Kajan emphasized that groups celebrating war criminals convicted by final verdicts cannot and must not be stronger than state institutions.

He recalled Article 145a of the Criminal Code of BiH, which stipulates that anyone who grants recognition, an award, or any memorial to a person convicted of genocide, crimes against humanity, or war crimes, as well as anyone who names a street, square, bridge, or institution after such a person, or in any way glorifies a war criminal, must be punished with imprisonment of at least three years.

He specifically pointed out that the penalties are equally severe for officials, responsible persons, or employees in government institutions who violate these provisions.

Kajan posed a public question - how did the group that prevented the removal of the mural know the exact date and time of the scheduled action? He stated that this information was known exclusively to the Inspection Service, the acting inspector, and the person or company that received the order for removal.

- It can be concluded that there is an internal leak of information. Who is protecting those who break the law and who from within the state is directly sabotaging the administration of justice? Has the MUP of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton identified those who did not allow the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be implemented? - Kajan asked and demanded an urgent investigation and accountability.
