Travnik prepares to increase allowances, pandemic does not affect SDA and HDZ

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 3rd session of the Municipal Council is scheduled for tomorrow in Travnik, and the agenda will include, among other things, the Proposal for a Decision on amending the Decision on allowances for councilors and members of the working bodies of the Travnik Municipal Council.

The public is outraged by the news that the ruling SDA and HDZ have placed on the agenda a proposal to increase current allowances, raising the amount of 405.09 KM gross to 462.96 KM, and the amount of 462.96 KM gross to 520.83 KM.

What is being requested is a retroactive increase, meaning if the increase is approved, the decision will apply from January 1, 2021.

In neighboring Novi Travnik, we witnessed completely different behavior from elected officials. The Mayor of Novi Travnik, Stjepan Dujo, reduced his own salary and the salaries of employees of the Municipality of Novi Travnik, thus earning the absolute support of the public because he showed how one can be socially sensitive and manage taxpayer money responsibly in times of the greatest post-war crisis in this region.
