Sport in focus of the ZDK Government: Over 6 million KM for sports development in 2026

(Patria) - The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) has continued with the planned and continuous strengthening of sports, ensuring significant budget allocations for this area and successfully realizing one of the important program goals.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of ZDK Mirza Mušija says that in 2026, more than six million KM will be allocated for sports, through various programs and transfers, thus achieving the goal of sports reaching 1% of the total ZDK budget.

The funds were distributed transparently and evenly, through clearly defined programs and public calls, in accordance with legal frameworks and the actual needs of sports clubs and individuals.

The largest part of the investment is directed towards sports of special importance for ZDK, but also towards the development of a broad sports base - from youth selections, school and disability sports, to individual and team disciplines.

Special attention is paid to supporting athletes and clubs that represent the canton on the domestic and international stage.

- The vision of the ZDK Government is clear - creating conditions for the development of premier league clubs, as well as individual athletes who will achieve notable results in European and world competitions.

Parallel to the financial support for sports clubs, significant funds are invested in the renovation and construction of sports infrastructure.

In most cities and municipalities of ZDK, projects for the modernization of sports halls, playgrounds and other sports facilities have been realized or are underway - stated Minister Mušija.

The ZDK Government remains consistent in its commitment to treating sport as a strategic social segment - investing in the health of young people, promoting positive values, and affirming ZDK at home and abroad.
