Monument to Chetnik Duke Lazar Tešanović near Banja Luka

A monument to Chetnik Duke from World War II Lazar Tešanović will be erected today on Mount Čemernica between Mrkonjić Grad and Banja Luka. The monument will be unveiled by Drago Mićić and Boško Torbica, representatives of the Movement of Serbian Chetniks Ravna Gora from America, and the envoy of the Bishop of Banja Luka Jefrem and the elder of the Temple of Saint Sava in Milwaukee, USA, will consecrate the monument.

There are no official reactions to the announcement of glorifying the Chetnik duke. Condemnations only on social networks. The monument to Tešanović will be erected a few days before the commemoration of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica on July 11, 1995.

Tešanović is remembered for having made an agreement and collaborated with the NDH, in order to stop the strengthening of the partisans.

Psychologist and analyst Srđan Puhalo wrote that Chetniks and Ustashas differ only in that Chetniks mostly killed Muslims, while Ustashas killed Serbs!
