List of 35 Companies in BiH That Reported the Highest Material Damage During the Floods

Damage during the floods that hit our country in May this year has so far been reported to the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH by representatives of 154 companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The report of the FTC BiH, which the Patria agency obtained for review, states that companies affected by the floods employ around 14,616 employees, the direct damage incurred by them is around 41 million KM, while the indirect damage is estimated at around 24 million KM.

And, the encouraging news in this entire situation is that none of these companies have announced layoffs. They propose deferral of tax and contribution payments for employees or relief on these payments for a certain period, writes Patria.

The Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH has created a questionnaire related to the damage to companies in BiH caused by the floods. The questionnaire was forwarded to its members. A total of 154 companies submitted completed questionnaires, and based on this, an assessment of the damage incurred by domestic companies due to the floods was carried out. The damages are huge and difficult to compensate in the near future, according to the FTC BiH report.

The total direct reported costs of the companies are around 41,635,000 KM, but it should be known, the report further states, that some companies have not yet submitted the value of the damages, so it is expected that the value of the damages will be even higher. The total indirect reported costs for these companies are around 24,033,000 KM.

The largest number of affected companies during the floods in BiH, which submitted data to the FTC BiH, are involved in transport, 66 companies, 27 companies are involved in agro-industry, 38 are involved in industrial production, and the rest in trade and other service activities, writes Patria.
