UN Special Rapporteur in Bihać tomorrow

BIHAĆ, (Patria) - The Government of the Una-Sana Canton will hold a session on Friday in Bihać. The session begins at 07:30 in the Canton Government building.

At 09:00, the Prime Minister of USK, Mustafa Ružnić, will talk with the UN Special Rapporteur for the human rights of migrants, Felipe Gonzales Morales. He will hold a press conference on Tuesday regarding his observations on the migrant crisis.

The Government of USK also informs that on Friday at 11:00 AM, a peaceful protest will be held in the municipality of Novi Grad (central pedestrian zone), co-organized with the local authorities of the Municipality of Novi Grad, with the intention of demanding that neighboring Croatia abandon its intention to build a radioactive and nuclear waste disposal site in the Trgovska Gora area, i.e., to dispose of this waste at the Čerkezovac location, Dvor na Uni Municipality in Croatia.

The intention of the protest organizers is to point out that the Trgovska Gora location is unacceptable for the citizens of Novi Grad, neighboring municipalities, and cities on both sides of the Una River, because if these intentions are realized by the Croatian authorities, the area of the former Pounje region will be directly threatened, and that, in addition to the direct impact on human health, the proximity of dangerous radioactive waste could, in the near future, destroy the development prospects of the entire region, which is based on the production of healthy food and tourism.
