Rescuers continue search for missing, all machinery focused on clearing local roads

(Patria) - The search for missing persons in floods and landslides continued today in the area of Buturović Polje and other places in the Neretvica river basin, the Operational Centre of the Civil Protection of HNK announced this morning.

All heavy machinery is currently focused on clearing local roads. They are breaking through debris on the roads, and at the same time, repairs are being carried out on the water, electricity, and telephone networks.

Regular distribution of medicines, food, clothing, hygiene products, and all other necessary supplies to the endangered population is being carried out.

Following the order of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters, the order of the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters of HNK, and in accordance with the order of the City Headquarters of Civil Protection of the City of Konjic, 330 people have been evacuated from the area of the City of Konjic affected by the natural disaster by 3:43 AM.

A total of 411 people have been evacuated so far.

Specialist rescue teams continued the search for victims in the Jablanica area from early morning hours today. The clearing of debris on the roads and repairs to the water, electricity, and telephone networks continued. Food and medicine are being delivered to residents in the municipality.

During the night, endangered residents were evacuated to the sports hall (9 people), the private facility Grabovac (24 people), the nursing home (two immobile persons), while the remaining residents were accommodated with relatives, friends, and acquaintances.

Road communications in the Jablanica municipality with some settlements are interrupted, as well as with neighboring municipalities; work is being done on clearing the roads.

Electricity supply to some areas of the municipality is still interrupted. Work is being done to fix faults with the water supply. Mobile and fixed telephony is interrupted in some places.

Road traffic authorities continue to work in the Drežnica area, where road routes have been cleared except for the section of the road towards Divo Grabovica. Electricity and telephone connections are normal. Water is still not for consumption.
