GSS Konjic rescuers save woman in Čuhovići on Bjelašnica

A team of the Mountain Rescue Service station Konjic is trying to evacuate an elderly woman from the village of Čuhovići, about 23 kilometres from Konjic, towards the village of Lukomir on Bjelašnica, reports Patria. On Sunday evening, help was requested from the GSS, after the elderly woman fell ill, and an ambulance could not reach the village due to snowdrifts on the road.

00:50 -  The 75-year-old woman ultimately remained in the village of Čuhovići, after GSS members provided her with first aid. As confirmed for Patria, the woman had high blood pressure, which caused her to fall ill. Since the village has been snowed in for several weeks, the GSS had to be involved, with a medical technician in their rescue team.

- The patient received first aid and medication. We stayed with her at home for a while to see if her health condition would stabilise. We assessed that she was recovering, that she could stay at home, and that there was no need to organise transport to the hospital - was said for NAP from GSS Konjic.

22:00 - GSS rescuers managed to reach the elderly woman in Čuhovići, who fell ill on Sunday evening. The team of rescuers also includes a medical technician. He managed to examine the woman and provide her with first aid...   

21:10 - One of the GSS members confirmed for Patria that the rescuers received a call for help, after which they headed towards the village in a special vehicle. 

The mountain village of Čuhovići has been snowed in for several weeks. It is home to a small number of families, mostly elderly people, who engage in livestock farming during the summer.
