SPAIN, (Patria) - The coach of the Spanish lower-league football club Atletico Portada Francisco Garcia, who tested positive for coronavirus, has died, local media reported today.
"We want to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our coach who has left us," his club said in a statement.
Garcia was 21 years old, and in addition to testing positive for coronavirus, he also had leukemia, which further weakened him.
Spain has more than 9,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, with a high growth rate from day to day. There are at least 300 deaths. After Italy, Spain is the largest hotspot of coronavirus in Europe.
