Emir Spahić, former captain of the BiH national football team, has returned to Germany for treatment of a back injury. Although he arrived for the gathering at the Training Centre in Zenica and responded to the call of coach Safet Sušić, the health of this experienced defender is more important, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
It is not known whether Spahić will be in the plans for the match against Belgium on October 13th at Bilino Polje.
The seriousness of the injury is also shown by the fact that his parent club, Bayer Leverkusen, sent a letter to the Football Federation of BiH informing them that Spahić is injured.
In any case, the matches against Wales and Belgium continue, and how Sušić will arrange the lineup for the upcoming games given his weakened squad remains to be seen, writes Patria.
