Špago: The "Trojka" is trying to stay in power by supporting Bećirović

(Patria) - The support of Saša Magazinović for the new candidacy of his party colleague Denis Bećirović for a member of the BiH Presidency is completely understandable, as this candidacy is nothing more than an attempt by the "Trojka" to preserve their political survival in power.

This was stated today by the head of the SDA Party's caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šerif Špago.

He also called on both Bećirović and Magazinović not to wait for "the time that should come" and not to hide behind abstract phrases, but to immediately present their alleged "impressive work results".

- The public in Bosnia and Herzegovina is witnessing the deepest post-Dayton political and institutional crisis in this mandate, the lifting of sanctions against leaders of secessionist policies, the passivity of institutions, and a complete standstill on the European and NATO path, while the government tries to convince the same public of the "impressive results" of one of the most responsible persons for such a situation.

What is partially true in Magazinović's press release is that Bećirović is "a man of concrete work, not just empty words." Unfortunately, it is precisely these "concrete moves" that today have very damaging consequences for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Specifically and without hesitation, outvoting Željko Komšić with SNSD's Željka Cvijanović, Bećirović gave the mandate to HDZ's Borjana Krišto to lead the Council of Ministers of BiH, without any program, without reform obligations, and without any guarantee that Bosnia and Herzegovina will move towards the European Union and NATO – Špago stated.

He emphasized that the current situation in the country is not a coincidence, but a direct consequence of that choice and such political action.

- As for "empty words", although Bećirović is an undisputed authority in that area, the current "Trojka" member of the BiH Presidency does not utter a single word, empty or meaningful, about the problems and scandals for which his coalition is responsible.

He is trying to avoid responsibility by remaining silent, distance himself from the "Trojka", and create a false impression that he has nothing to do with the policies that have led Bosnia and Herzegovina to its current state, even though until yesterday he was the vice-president of the SDP and one of its most prominent officials.

Responsible state work, which Bećirović claims to be doing, is not protocol travel and political tourism, nor using the BiH Presidency as a decorative function, but solving serious political, security, and institutional problems that Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing, and which he has been systematically ignoring for three years – Špago concluded.
