Špago and Martinović Chairmen of the HNK Assembly, election from Serb ranks pending

MOSTAR, (Patria) - At today's continuation of the constitutive session of the HNK Assembly, members of the assembly leadership from the Bosniak and Croat peoples were elected, and in this term they are again Šerif Špago and Tomislav Martinović.

- Today we elected the chairman or deputy chairman from among the Bosniak and Croat deputies. We had no proposals from the Serb deputies' club. We left the possibility that by the next session the Serb deputies' club will agree on a proposal and submit it to the Assembly so that the leadership of the Assembly of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton can be elected, i.e., completed. I believe it is very important that this is finished as soon as possible - said Šerif Špago.

He chaired today's Constitutive Session of the HNK Assembly.

- Unfortunately, today we did not elect a deputy chairman from the Serb people, because in that club no agreement was reached today on who will be the deputy chairman of the Assembly. We expect from that club that by the next session of the Assembly this issue will be resolved and that the Assembly will then be completed in full composition and will thus be able to continue working normally - said Tomislav Martinović.

We remind you that on 23 November the first part of the constitutive session of the HNK Assembly was held, when the newly elected representatives received certificates from the Central Election Commission of BiH, signed a solemn declaration and took the oath.

The third item on the agenda was supposed to be the election of the new leadership of the HNK Assembly. However, the session was adjourned and its continuation was announced for today. Until then, time was left for the clubs of the constituent peoples to be constituted, which will propose candidates for the leadership of the HNK Assembly.
