Sorensen: Winners of the elections will have great responsibility

The European Union will closely monitor the election process in Bosnia and Herzegovina and we support the arrival of the ODIHR Observation Mission, said the Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, at a meeting with the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission, Corien Jonker, held today in Sarajevo, reports Patria News Agency.

Ambassador Sorensen emphasized the importance of domestic election observation and participation, especially the activities of the "Pod lupom" coalition, and called on the citizens of BiH to vote in the October General Elections.

- If you don't vote, you have voted for the person who won - Sorensen said.

He stressed that whoever is elected in the October elections has the responsibility to move the country forward, especially through the economic reforms contained in the Growth and Jobs Compact.

- Primarily, what citizens expect is important. Both the citizens of BiH and the EU member states want this country to join the European Union. Every survey in this country shows that citizens want a better life - they want jobs, better salaries and pensions, good education and healthcare systems, and a strong fight against corruption. With their votes, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will choose those whom they believe are best for this job and for achieving these results - Ambassador Sorensen concluded.
