Sorensen Organizes Major Forum for Economic Development and Reconstruction of BiH!

Ambassador Peter Sorensen, Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, will organize the most respectable gathering dedicated to the country's economic development in the last few years in Sarajevo on Monday and Tuesday, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Officials from Europe and BiH will discuss economic recovery at the highest level, and the presentation of the Development Agreement between BiH and the European Union is also expected, reports NAP. This gathering is organized after the EU decided to focus its activities on the economic development of BiH.

The event will be attended by the Head of German diplomacy Frank Walter Steinmeier, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan, and top domestic officials.

- Following the conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council from April 2014 and its call for expanding the program between the EU and BiH, the EUSR is organizing a major conference on the economic recovery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held on May 26 and 27, 2014. The goal of the Forum for Prosperity and Employment is to define measures that will attract investments, adopt a broader approach to economic opportunities, encourage the creation of new jobs, and achieve better social protection - it was announced today from the EU Delegation.

The Forum is organized in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Embassy of the United States of America.

- The Forum will bring together other interested parties and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to define a package of concrete policies and measures to assist the economy affected by the catastrophic floods - it was emphasized.
