Soreca: EU enlargement door open, BiH authorities need to accelerate progress

(Patria) - Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Luigi Soreca presented to the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, the European Commission Report on BiH for 2025.

"I emphasised that the Report should be treated as a guide showing where the country needs to deliver results. And when candidate countries fulfil their obligations, the EU responds as well.

The door to enlargement is open. The EU is preparing to welcome new members in the coming years. This should be an incentive for the authorities in BiH to accelerate the pace of progress," Soreca wrote on platform X.

He stated that with political will and cooperation, holding the first intergovernmental conference is achievable and that the EU will continue to support BiH at every step. He also added that the opportunity exists and that it is time to act immediately.
