Soreca warns: Disappearance or collapse of BHRT would be a big step backwards for the country

(Patria) - The disappearance or collapse of BHRT would represent a big step backwards for the country, said the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Ambassador Luigi Soreca.

In a post on the X platform, Soreca recalled that an "important" meeting was held today, together with the Quint ambassadors, with the BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović.

Among other things, the critical situation at BHRT was also discussed at the meeting.

"A stable, functional and genuinely independent public RTV system is a clear and long-standing EU priority in BiH, and ensuring a sustainable, predictable and lawful financing model is urgent and cannot be further delayed.

We call on all competent authorities to engage on this issue and, together with our Quint partners, we remain ready to support dialogue aimed at finding a way forward," Soreca wrote.
