Solak: Due to illegal construction of houses, we have the same problem in Ilidža municipality

In the area of Ilidža municipality, parts of Otes and Hendekuša traditionally flooded, and people built houses without permits, without prior soil testing, and this is what happens during rainfall, said Fahrudin Solak, director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, for the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- We are on the ground, it is important that the rain has stopped. The water has mostly reached the thresholds of the houses. We have no other information about river overflows or other problems. Where the most rain fell in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, West Herzegovina and Livno, there were no problems - said Solak.

As Solak stated, employees of the Agency for the Sava River Basin are on the ground.

According to the Agency's data, the river basins of the Una, Vrbas and Bosna rivers are rising. From the measurements at 7 AM to the measurements at 10 AM, the river levels rose by an average of 10 cm, while the Bosna river in Maglaj rose by as much as 50 cm in three hours.

Solak also explained that members of the Municipal, Cantonal and Federal Civil Protection Administrations were on the ground all night.
