Solak: Spraying possible within 72 hours depending on weather conditions

Although it rained, we did not receive any calls regarding the opening or activation of landslides, said Fahrudin Solak, director of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection, for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Today, a meeting of the Civil Protection staff was held to review reports on land control and public health in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, related to mosquito spraying. Although Solak said there are speculations about the day of spraying, he stated that the public will be informed in a timely manner.

- One to two days before, they will be informed. We have information that it could happen within 72 hours if weather conditions permit. Spraying would be carried out in the Posavina area and along the Bosna River valley from Maglaj towards the flooded areas – Solak told NAP.

He said that about 20 members of the Civil Protection in Orašje are working on terrain sanitation.

- With specialized boats, they are collecting dead livestock. Tomorrow morning in Orašje itself, there will be a session of the Federal Staff, and it is planned that 30 to 40 people will work on pumping water, terrain sanitation, and cleaning – Solak said.

Constant coordination is also maintained with about ten international teams that assist them in water purification and pumping. Among others, there are Swedish, Hungarian, German, Belgian, and Danish teams.
