Solak for NAP: We will introduce a movement ban for those under 18 and over 65 years of age

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration Fahrudin Solak, who is a member of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters, confirmed for the News Agency Patria that a measure restricting the movement of persons under 18 and over 65 years of age will be considered today.

“These are categories that mostly do not respect the measures we have adopted, so we will proceed with restrictive measures,” Solak told NAP.

When asked if going to and gathering at picnic areas, mountains, and in nature will be prohibited, Solak said that once these restrictions are introduced, there will likely be no need.

The Federal Headquarters will convene today at 1 PM, and information on the number of infected individuals will be published twice a day at 10 AM and 6 PM. This morning, five new cases of coronavirus linked to the celebration of Igman's 70th anniversary in Konjic were confirmed. The exact number of tested individuals whose results are pending is unknown, and new results are expected at 6 PM, which should be announced by the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters or the Federal Institute of Public Health of FBiH.

Solak also clarified that there is no federal crisis headquarters, but exclusively the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters, while the Ministry of Health of FBiH has an advisory role for cantonal crisis headquarters and civil protection headquarters.

Solak could not state the number of tests available for citizens, but he emphasized that there are enough.

“Those with symptoms are being tested,” Solak said, adding that the World Health Organization is sending tests.

When asked about cooperation with Republika Srpska, he stated that some institutions are in contact, but that the Coordination Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Protection and Rescue of People and Material Goods from Natural and Other Disasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina, chaired by the Minister of Security of BiH Fahrudin Radončić, is responsible for any cooperation and flow of information.
