Sokolović: Čović should bring radical Croats under control, not meddle with Bosniak unity

-The very fact that facilities, and thus people, have been attacked for the third time in Čitluk clearly tells us that the situation for Bosniaks down there remains untenable, said Salko Sokolović, SDA state representative and former president of the SDA Municipal Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, for the news agency Patria, commenting on the attack on three houses of Bosniak returnees that occurred on October 3.   

Sokolović, who has been waging a fierce battle for the rights of Bosniaks in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton for 20 years, and is considered the best connoisseur of political circumstances and relations in that area, further explains that messages are being sent to Bosniaks in this way.

-Croats achieved their majority and dominance throughout Herzegovina, Čitluk, Čapljina, Prozor, Stolac, part of Mostar... through ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks, and now with such attacks they are sending them the message 'you are not welcome here', says Sokolović.   

Those who have returned, he continues, are now being harassed in a different way, and attempts are being made to drive them away again.

-Bosniaks have no influence in government bodies or in the public life of the municipalities they belong to.

This latest attack in Čitluk is a sign for Dragan Čović that he should bring radical Croats under control, rather than dealing with the alleged unification of Bosniaks. Bosniaks will achieve their unity without him, Sokolović concludes.
