SNSD requests an urgent session of the House of Representatives and the election of Borenović to the leadership

(Patria) - MPs of SNSD and the Serb Club in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) today submitted a request for an urgent session of this house, on which the proposed agenda includes the election of Branislav Borenović as the second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of PSBiH.

"Given that this position became vacant with the dismissal of the second Deputy Speaker, and that according to the Constitution and Rules of Procedure, the Speaker and Deputies are from the three constituent peoples and that the position of Speaker rotates among these three elected officials, we propose the election of Branislav Borenović as the second Deputy Speaker," the request addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Denis Zvizdić, states.

The request reminds that the BiH Constitution stipulates that each house of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly adopts its rules of procedure by a majority vote and elects a Serb, a Bosniak, and a Croat among its members for the Speaker and their Deputies, with the position of Speaker rotating among these three elected officials.

MPs of SNSD and the Serb Club in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly emphasize that they advocate for respect for the BiH Constitution and believe that this house "operates unconstitutionally" without a Serb in the Collegium.

The request for an urgent session of the House of Representatives was signed by MPs Sanja Vulić, Obren Petrović, Milorad Kojić, Miroslav Vujičić, and Ljubica Miljanović.
