SNSD BREAKS QUORUM IN HOUSE OF PEOPLES Špirić: Whoever decides the agenda holds power, am I supposed to go to the political guillotine like a sheep?

(Patria) - After three SNSD delegates left the House of Peoples session, thus breaking the quorum for further work and decision-making, and when the agenda included the dismissals of Nikola Špirić and ministers Srđan Amidžić and Staša Košarac, Špirić himself addressed the media.

"We wish our colleagues luck; if they have the procedural and constitutional majority and intend to finish that job, that's fine. If not, we are ready to work on those things that create throughput capacity, which is in everyone's interest, and there is no reason for anyone to be angry with us. The moment they have three delegates from the Serb people, we will then observe and help, but as long as we have the constitutional and procedural majority, we are not ready to give a majority on those decisions we believe undermine the national interest. Any participation of ours to vote for the dismissal of our representatives, party representatives, representatives of the RS would be undermining the electoral will of the citizens of the RS. That is a vital national interest. Just as it would be an endangerment of the national interest when it comes to Croats and Bosniaks. I know there is a certain power through the House of Representatives, but through the House of Peoples there is none. If that is achieved, then things will move in a different direction. Until then, our decision is not to provide a quorum on those agenda items," said Špirić.

He emphasized that the Rules of Procedure do not define the order of agenda items and that colleague Kemal Ademović did object to the order, but was not against it at the Collegium.

"Colleague Ademović made no mistake, but he was not against it either," said Špirić.

"If someone is invoking the High Representative, the court, the prosecution, they might as well finish it tomorrow. Perhaps a new agreement will be reached sometime. Why the rush? Where have all these sudden Europeans been until now? People cannot provide a quorum; how can they carry the European path? Maybe we are not ideal, but how can you lead processes if you cannot secure a quorum? I am sorry to be in this position. Whoever decides the agenda holds power. Is there a majority outside of us in the Serb club? No. That is as clear as day. And the logic is not the same in the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples. This is not a fight for Nikola Špirić's position. Our leaving the session is a political message. Surely the court and prosecution will not prosecute me because I have a political stance. Can you imagine they lead me to the political guillotine and I go like a sheep?" said Špirić.
