Snowfall hampers traffic in some parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - New snowfall that hit the western and northwestern parts of our country has made traffic difficult and slow, especially on sections in higher areas, where the use of chains is mandatory for trucks.

We highlight the main roads Bihać-Bosanski Petrovac-Ključ, Bosanski Petrovac-Drvar, Bihać-Bosanski Novi and Bihać-Velika Kladuša. We appeal to drivers to drive with maximum caution and to adjust their driving to current road conditions. We also warn of frequent rock and earth landslides onto the roadway, highlighting Mostar-Jablanica-Sarajevo.

We remind drivers that having winter equipment is legally mandatory.

On the A-1 motorway, traffic is using the passing lane on the Sarajevo West-Lepenica section due to an active landslide at the Ban Brdo site. We ask drivers to drive more carefully and at reduced speed on this section of the motorway.

Due to activated landslides, the traffic regime has also been changed on the main road M-16 Banja Luka-Crna Rijeka (at the Gornji Šeher site), as well as on regional roads R-441 Banja Luka-Turbe (Ljubačevo) and R-454a Bratunac-Drinjača.

Traffic is using one lane on the main road M-14.2 Resanovci-Drvar, due to the collapse of a retaining wall.

Due to bad weather conditions in Croatia, at the Izačić border crossing, a ban on traffic for trucks over 7.5 tons is in effect. At other border crossings, waiting times are up to 30 minutes, as reported by BiHAMK.
