Snowfall and wind caused problems in electricity supply

Intense snowfall accompanied by strong winds caused failures in the overhead high-voltage and low-voltage network in the Tuzla Canton area over the weekend. The additional load of wet snow broke trees and branches, toppled overhead network poles, causing power outages in a large number of settlements in the canton.

Currently, 38 power lines at 35 kV and 10 kV voltage are without power in the areas of Tuzla, Živinice, Srebrenik, Lukavac, Gradačac, Kladanj, Banovići, and Kalesija. All teams of the "Elektrodistribucija" Tuzla Branch are intensively working to repair the failures and normalize the supply. Due to the outage of the 110 kV power line of the Jablanica Hydroelectric Power Plant, customers in the Municipality of Konjic are without electricity.

In the Zenica-Doboj Canton, approximately 2500 customers in Kakanj, Maglaj, Olovo, Vareš, and Zavidovići are currently without electricity. Two transformer stations in Vitez, in the Central Bosnia Canton, are also without power. Due to damage to the power line at Nišići, 7 transformer stations in this area are without power. Teams of the Sarajevo "Elektrodistribucija" Branch are working on repairing the damage and normalizing the supply.
