Snow hampers traffic in most of Bosnia

(Patria) - Due to a blocked heavy goods vehicle and a traffic accident, traffic has been suspended on the main road Ripač-Vrtoče (section Dubovsko-Lipa).

Due to snow drifts, traffic has been suspended for all vehicle categories on the roads Glamoč-Mlinište and Posušje-Blidinje, on the main road Bosansko Grahovo-Drvar-Bosanski Petrovac for heavy goods vehicles, while for the same reason traffic is difficult on the sections Bosanski Petrovac-Lanište-Ključ, Ključ-Sanski Most and Kupres-Šipovo.

On the 9. januar motorway, as well as on main and regional roads in the RS, traffic for heavy goods vehicles has been suspended until 10 PM tonight.

Snow hampers traffic in most of Bosnia, while in Herzegovina the road surface is wet. We especially warn about sections across mountain passes, where there is packed snow on the road. The use of chains is mandatory for heavy goods vehicles on these sections.

Due to lower temperatures and ice on the road, we advise extremely cautious driving, adapted to current conditions and the state of the roads. We advise drivers not to set off unless necessary, and if they do travel, not to set off without appropriate winter equipment.

Due to difficult winter conditions, traffic has been suspended for all motor vehicles at the border crossing Izačić. At other border crossings, passenger vehicles do not wait longer than 30 minutes.

Across the mountain pass Borova glava (Šuica-Livno) we warn about frequent appearances of wild horses on the road.

On the main road Jablanica-Blidinje, due to road damage, traffic is still suspended.

Works are ongoing on the main road M-17 in Donja Jablanica, at the Komadinovo vrelo site, due to which traffic occasionally moves slower, with possible short suspensions.

On the A1 motorway section, Podlugovi-Visoko, due to works on installing noise barriers at the work site, the overtaking lane is in use.

Works are also ongoing on the main roads: Pelagićevo-Srebrenik, Turbe-Travnik (Kalibunar), Husino-Ljubače, Buna-Masline, Klašnice-Šargovac, Lepenica-Han Ploča and Čitluk-Ljubuški.

On the main road Rogatica-Ustiprača, due to bridge damage, vehicles up to 30 tons use one lane, while traffic for vehicles over 30 tons is suspended.

Traffic is banned for vehicles over 5 tons maximum permissible mass at the border crossing Karakaj (near Zvornik). Heavy goods vehicles over 5 tons are redirected to the border crossings Bratunac or Rača, while buses can use the GP Šepak. Heavy goods vehicles can use GP Šepak from 9 AM to 1 PM and from 10 PM to 6 AM.
