SITUATION IN SALAKOVAC Pomozi.ba Association Launched a Campaign to Buy a House for Five Palestinian Families

(Patria) - The Pomozi.ba association has launched an appeal to buy a house for five Palestinian families currently residing in the Salakovac refugee camp. By calling the number 17047, you donate 2 KM and directly help these families get a safe home. The number is unique for all telecom operators in BiH.

The El Barawi and Rajab families, comprising 19 members, are currently living in extremely difficult conditions. Among them is Sutka El Barawi, our Bosnian woman, who married Samir, a Palestinian student in BiH, back in the 1980s. In the early nineties, they moved to Palestine, but when the suffering began, they had to flee for their lives and return to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Immediately upon arrival, they didn't ask for much – just a machine so they could work. Hardworking, dignified, and modest, they never got used to living on others' help. Today, their greatest wish is a roof over their heads. The house they want to buy costs 130,000 KM – an unattainable amount for them. But for us, together, it is an achievable goal. Five families would live in the house.

Bosnians and Herzegovinians know best what it's like to be a refugee, what it's like when your home is destroyed and your safety is lost. We know how much it hurts when your loved ones – children, mothers, fathers – who are not to blame for wars, but suffer them anyway, are harmed.
Therefore, we call on you – let's help these families build a new home in BiH. A home full of peace, warmth, and hope. Let's show them they are not alone.
