Director of the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund Esad Humo dismissed, HDZ's Marijan Klaić appointed acting director

(Patria) - The Management Board of the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund dismissed Esad Humo yesterday and appointed Marijan Klaić, an HDZ BiH cadre, as acting director.

This decision is not final and needs to be confirmed by the FBiH Government, headed by Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, but judging by the relations on the political scene in FBiH, it will be a mere formality.

This is an expected sequence of events after the HDZ, practically thanks to the decisions of the FBiH Government, took control of the Fund's Management Board in the middle of this year.

Namely, out of seven members, as many as four positions went to HDZ cadres, while the remaining three were filled by Our Party cadres, writes Mostar live.

The imbalance was also evident in the national composition, as the Management Board now consists of four Croats, two Bosniaks, and one Serb: Zvjezdan Karadžin - president, and members Sanel Riđanović, Amir Husarić, Mirjana Milićević, Danijela Jurina, Doris Čuljak, and Božana Bilandžija.

Yesterday's session itself and what preceded it irresistibly resembled Kafka's "The Trial" or the voting during the election for the Mayor of Mostar.

The President of the Management Board from Our Party, Karadžin, led the session according to a scenario prepared at the HDZ headquarters in Mostar, while the remaining two members of the Management Board, his party colleagues, remained on the sidelines.

Thus, yesterday's session resulted in the HDZ BiH taking complete control of the Fund, which will now have a director and a majority on the Fund's Management Board, which distributes tens of millions of convertible marks annually to local communities, associations, and private companies.

As soon as the new Management Board with four members from the HDZ was elected, it was clear that Humo's dismissal would follow.

Slađan Bevanda was the most serious contender for his successor. It was speculated in the public that they were waiting for the appointment of the new HNK Government, in which Bevanda would not be a minister, but would be offered the Environmental Fund.

However, this combination failed due to haste. And why is the HDZ in a hurry? Precisely because of the distribution of environmental protection funds through the Public Call published on September 7, which can be found at THIS LINK.

This public call is currently distributing more than 31 million convertible marks, and the role of the director, along with the majority on the Management Board, is crucial for the HDZ to be able to distribute the common millions independently.

Humo's dismissal is clearly not just a personnel change, but the handover of control over an important institution in the Federation of BiH into the hands of a political party which, in turn, gathers representatives of only one nation.
