SMETOVI Zenica City coordinates the implementation of the Children's Wintering project

Zenica City has been coordinating the implementation of the Children's and Youth Wintering project for many years, which has multiple benefits for citizens, especially for the youth of our City. The goal of the project is to utilize the existing capacities offered by Smetovi. Unfortunately, there are not enough accommodation capacities, so the Program will be combined with day trips to Smetovi, according to the office of Mayor Fuad Kasumović.

The Program includes a range of different activities that will be prepared and implemented by non-governmental organizations (Scouts, Association of Physical Education Pedagogues, Sports School, Mountaineers, etc.). Zenica City will coordinate the activities of public city enterprises and other institutions (such as JP Zenicatrans, ALBA d.o.o. Zenica, Ze-do Canton – Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environment, Komgrad d.o.o., MUP, and others) which will also participate in the implementation of the Program.

 The implementation of this Program is planned during the winter break and will last from January 3 to January 22, 2017. As is known, air pollution in the city is highest during this period, so the Program will also have many benefits for children's health.

Public Enterprise Zenicatrans, during the implementation of the Program, i.e., from 03.01.2017, will introduce a regular bus line on the route Zenica-Smetovi-Zenica with departure at 9:30 AM in front of the City Arena and return from the parking lot at Smetovi at 3:00 PM. Depending on citizen interest, the number of departures can be increased, about which citizens will be informed in a timely manner – it is stated.
