Reduce Air Pollution: 10,000,000 Euros for the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda and Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in BiH Jan Braun signed a loan agreement for the project of improving energy efficiency at the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica worth 10,000,000 euros. Bevanda and Braun also signed an agreement on an EU investment grant in the amount of 1,000,000 euros.

- This loan will finance a heating system that increases energy efficiency, so in addition to reducing pollution, heating costs will also be reduced - said Bevanda after signing the agreement. The loan repayment period is 15 years with a three-year grace period.

Braun emphasized that the implementation of this project will improve energy efficiency in Zenica, raise air quality, and improve heating in winter and cooling of rooms in the Cantonal Hospital in summer.

In Zenica, the implementation of the Zenica-Green City action plan is underway, the goal of which is to reduce air pollution.
