Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's total debt reduced

MOSTAR; (Patria) - The Federal Government adopted today information on the debt of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fourth quarter of 2017, when a total of 92,491,022.54 KM was engaged on the basis of external debt. According to the exchange rate on the day of withdrawal, the actual value of withdrawn funds amounts to 93,194,322.86 KM.

During this quarter, no new loans were contracted for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of external debt.

At the same time, a total of 243,400,610.36 KM was paid for servicing external debt, of which 222,425,542.49 KM or 91.38 percent was for principal repayment, and the remaining 20,975,067.87 KM or 8.62 percent was paid for interest and fees. The planned servicing of external debt for the fourth quarter amounted to 214,691,845.20 KM, while the actual realization was 13.3 percent higher than planned.

External debt at the end of the last quarter of last year amounted to 4,739,373,174 KM or 2,906,146,745 dollars. Nominal debt, converted into convertible marks, is lower than in the previous quarter by 146,278,993 KM or by three percent.

In 2017, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina fully paid its share of the debt on the basis of Series A bonds of the London Club of Creditors. The final maturity date for amortizing Series B bonds of the London Club of Creditors is December 2021.

Regarding the internal debt of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as of 31.12.2017, it amounted to 548,615,380 dollars or 894,687,448 KM. Internal debt on the basis of market (treasury bills and bonds) and non-market securities (old foreign currency savings bonds and war claims) as of 31.12.2017 amounts to 866,213,380 KM (531,155,303 dollars) and is lower than in the previous quarter by 5.8 million KM or 0.67 percent.

The total debt managed and for which the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is responsible (external and internal) amounted to 3,454,762,125.57 dollars or 5,634,060,622 KM as of 31.12.2017, and is lower than the debt in the previous quarter by 148.85 million KM.
