Smajić: It is worrying that the BiH Parliament has not discussed floods and the terrorist attack in Bosanska Krupa

(Patria) - The House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament two days ago rejected the request of delegate Želimir Nešković from the Club of the Serb People for the Bill on the Constitutional Court of BiH to be considered under an urgent procedure, so it will still be in the regular parliamentary procedure.

Delegate Džemal Smajić (SBiH) from the Club of the Bosniak People, in an interview with BHRT, says that it is highly questionable how the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs will vote on the constitutionality of this legal proposal.

Smajić reminds that he, along with delegate Dženan Đonlagić, left the session because the others from that club did not honor the previous agreement.

- At the session of the Bosniak Club before the session of the House of Peoples, we agreed that if our conclusion to remove that item from the agenda was not adopted, the Club Chairman Šefik Džaferović would request a break, as he is the only one authorized to do so, but he did not. If a break had been requested, I think we would have agreed on what to do next, but we did not want to stay and be humiliated - says Smajić.

According to him, the constitutionality of the aforementioned Bill will be decided by the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, where members of SNSD and HDZ have a majority.

- Members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs come from SNSD and HDZ and have two members from the Bosniak Club, and it is highly questionable how they will vote on the constitutionality of this bill. Members of this Committee from the Bosniak Club cannot change the situation if SNSD and HDZ want this law to pass and give a positive opinion for it - states Smajić.

He emphasizes that laws important for BiH's European path will not be on the agenda of the next session of the House of Peoples either.

- There are no specific laws required by the European Commission at that session, except for the law I initiated to move the age limit in the Armed Forces of BiH from 40 to 45 years, in order to somehow ease the burden on soldiers in the BiH Armed Forces, as it is very difficult for them to find their way in the labor market - explains Smajić.

He considers it worrying that the BiH Parliament has not scheduled any thematic session regarding the recent floods that hit parts of our country, nor about the recent terrorist attack in Bosanska Krupa.

He also commented on the audit report on the management of the vehicle fleet of BiH institutions, which showed that the vehicles are not managed efficiently and that the wastefulness is enormous.

- We have over 4,000 vehicles in the institutions of BiH, the regulations on their use are not respected, and they incur high costs. Most do not treat the state of BiH responsibly, and there are many non-transparent actions, and of course, this needs to be resolved as soon as possible - emphasizes Smajić.

When asked if he would support or initiate an initiative to limit the price when purchasing official cars in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he answered affirmatively.

- I will submit an initiative that vehicles up to ten years old cannot be replaced simply because someone doesn't like them and the like, and the ones they use are still like new - added Smajić.
