Smajić: Ruling coalition blocks two billion KM for BiH and the path to the EU

(Patria) - The ruling coalition at the state level, through its incompetence and blockades of the work of institutions, is preventing all citizens in BiH from living a life worthy of a human being, warns SBiH delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament Džemal Smajić.

Smajić points out that Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot start using the fund of about two billion KM in EU support approved through the Growth Plan, because the SNSD, HDZ and the Troika, who hold all the levers of power, have not yet submitted the budget to the procedure, not even in the form of a draft.

As is known to the public, the adoption of the budget is a condition for using the funds from the Growth Plan, states Smajić.

In addition, he adds, the necessary laws on the Court, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, personal data protection and the border control law have not been adopted in order to unblock the negotiating framework for BiH.

"While we are witnessing the open destruction of the state of BiH and its institutions, we often hear attacks from the ruling parties that others are to blame for the non-functioning of the system.

I call on the ruling regime to carry out the necessary procedures and adopt the requested laws, so that BiH can receive the enormous amount of money that has been approved for it and move closer to EU membership," Smajić stated on social media.
