(Patria) - Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Forto said that he believes cantons should be excluded from the voting process on the Reform Plan.
Forto said that the key to such a decision lies with the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto. Džemal Smajić, delegate (SBiH) in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, says that Forto's proposal only makes sense if lower levels of government, including entities and cantons, are permanently excluded from making decisions concerning the obligations of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Otherwise, we will be looking at a one-off solution for the Troika to send a document to Brussels according to the wishes of Dodik and Čović, which dilutes the Europeanization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The question arises whether the Troika and Forto would behave the same way if the cantons controlled by HDZ made a decision like the four cantons in which NiP, among others, participates?”, Smajić points out.
