Smajić: The real intention was indeed to adopt the law, not just political (mis)use of parliamentary procedure!

(Patria) - Džemal Smajić, delegate (SBiH) in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, commented on the allegations that the Law on the Constitutional Court of BiH was withdrawn from parliamentary procedure after several months.

“I am pleased that the SDS delegate in the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Želimir Nešković, has withdrawn the controversial and unconstitutional Law on the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina from procedure.

As the public knows, I have been proposing exactly that all along since this problem has existed, because it is the simplest solution. In that sense, although eight months were unnecessarily wasted, Nešković's move will at least facilitate the end of this battle for the preservation of the constitutional and legal order of BiH in the end. I spoke with him directly on this topic several times, and he finally made a useful move,” said Smajić.

He also notes that the withdrawal of the law came after Dragan Čović's statement expressing readiness to stop the voting on the controversial law by HDZ delegates, which, according to Smajić, showed that the real intention was indeed to adopt the law, not just political (mis)use of parliamentary procedure.

“The only ones from whom citizens have not received public assurances throughout the entire process are Naša stranka and SDP, and that should be remembered,” Smajić emphasized.
