Smajić: Today, due to a personal struggle for positions in the Serb Club, we did not adopt important laws

(Patria) - The state House of Peoples was supposed to consider two proposed amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH institutions at today's session. One was proposed by the House of Representatives, and the other by delegate Džemal Smajić of the Party of BiH in the House of Peoples.

The session of the House of Peoples was interrupted due to a lack of quorum, after delegates from SNSD left.

In a social media post, Smajić reminded that he submitted a proposal to amend the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH institutions to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH a month ago, on February 6th, which would increase the salaries of soldiers, police officers, and civil servants.

"New coefficients cover professional military personnel, from soldiers to lieutenants, police officers from police officers to junior inspectors, and employees in BiH institutions - from those with lower vocational training to independent referents with higher vocational training.

Their salaries would be increased from 720 KM to 1,000 KM, so that no one employed in the institutions of BiH would have a salary below 1,000 KM.

Unfortunately, today our colleagues from the Serb Club did everything to cause the interruption of the session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and these laws were unfortunately not adopted.

We are witnessing a struggle within the Serb Club in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH over who will take over as a member of the Collegium of the House of Peoples, whether it's those from the ruling party or the opposition within the Serb Club.

Because of their personal struggle for positions, we became hostages today and did not adopt these laws, which are truly important, primarily for employees in the institutions of BiH," Smajić stated in a post on his Facebook profile.
