UIO BiH officers seize cigarette filling machine in Široki Brijeg

(Patria) - Authorised officers of the UIO temporarily seized a cigarette filling machine and a certain quantity of fine-cut tobacco and leaf tobacco, with an estimated total value of 80,000.00 KM.

Based on operational intelligence regarding the illegal filling, packaging, and trafficking of tobacco products, authorised UIO officers conducted field checks in the area of Široki Brijeg. During the operation, they found and temporarily seized a cigarette filling machine, 51 kg of fine-cut tobacco, and 302 kg of leaf tobacco. The machine was used for the illegal production of cigarettes that were prepared for further distribution and trafficking. The total value of the temporarily seized goods is estimated at 80,000.00 KM.

As the aforementioned excise goods were not marked with excise stamps in the legally prescribed manner and were not accompanied by the required documentation, the machine and the disputed goods were seized. Legal measures and actions will be taken against the person in whose possession the goods were found, in accordance with applicable legal regulations.
