UIO officials discover migrants in a truck while clearing goods

SARAJEVO, (Patria)- Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority discovered six migrants while inspecting a truck at the Sarajevo Customs Post.

- During a regular inspection of goods clearance at the Sarajevo Customs Post, officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority noticed a torn tarpaulin on the roof of a truck with BiH license plates. A detailed inspection of the truck by UIO officials found six hidden migrants, five young men and one woman.

According to their statements, they are from Iraq and entered the truck in Livno by cutting the tarpaulin on the roof of the truck. According to further statements, they intended to travel to Italy and had received information that this truck was transporting goods to that country.

The Authority informed the competent police agency about this, which then took measures within its jurisdiction - stated the UIO.
